I booked this hotel due to it being one of the better rated hotels in Leshan. Unfortunately, all of the reviews were in Chinese so I had to take a bit of a gamble to try it out. I am writing this review to point out our experience of this hotel so that fellow English speaking travellers can avoid this hotel, or if you must, know what you're in for. We are in the process of checking in and immediately notice many couples entering, approaching the front desk to interrupt and demanding keys to 'just take a look'.
We thought it was odd but let it slide. First sign its a fairly popular hotel for red light services. We go up the lifts to find our rooms. There are three girls in skimpy attire loitering and smoking in the hallway. Second sign. We enter the rooms to find a fairly decent room, bed looks clean, bathroom is dirty but acceptable.
The bathroom is stocked with condoms, vibrator, sex oils and underwear that can be purchased. Third sign. We head out for dinner and the location is quite nice. It is fairly central, there is a shopping center in the same building, a western steakhouse chain Houcallers down the road, night markets etc.
Back to the rooms after dinner and walking around. Get an unsolicited call from the front desk. I don't understand fully but pick up on the word for I don't understand fully but pick up on the word for massage. My wife who understands Mandarin can hear the speaker and says they are asking if I would like a private in room massage. No thank you.
We noticed a pink advertisement on the bedside table for massage services in room. Very prominent image of a half naked girl touching herself in the ad. Fourth sign. Given its just a night stay we ignore all of this and try to go to bed. Noticed 2 cockroaches on the bedside table as I lean over to turn off the lights. We then hear what must be a bed rocking very loudly in one of the neighbouring rooms.
